When it comes to SEO, one of the simplest and best ways to get your website listed is to add meta-tags to the head of your site, somewhere between the <head> and </head> tags. These should include the title of your website, a description and relevant keywords.
Each word you use should be found somewhere on your homepage. For example, if your website is called ‘BusyBee Daycare’, then that should be inside the title meta-tag. If, somewhere on your homepage you have the words ‘Taking care of your little ones’, then the meta-tag title could be:
<META NAME=”Title” CONTENT=”BusyBee Daycare – Taking care of your little ones”>
Your description could be:
<META NAME=”Description” CONTENT=”We aim to provide the best daycare service around, taking care of your little ones as you would yourself.”>
But make sure you have that exact phrase on your homepage somewhere. The same with the keywords – make sure they are all on the page:
<META NAME=”Keywords” CONTENT=”busybee,daycare,taking care of your little ones,service,nursery,toddlers,babies,play,toys,quality time,play area”>
There are other things you could have in your meta-tags, such a ‘robots’ tag, which tells search engine ‘bots’ what to index when scanning your site. Here’s more info on this.
